Form 4473 Workflow

1
Open a new 4473 from the sale or transfer
Firearm details and transaction date auto-populate from the inventory record. You fill in buyer information.
2
Complete Sections A through D
All required fields are presented in order. Identity fields are normalized (trimmed, uppercased) to support cross-form matching per ATF guidance.
3
Log the NICS check result
Record Proceed, Delay, or Deny along with the NTN (transaction number). Delay follow-up date is tracked.
4
Complete and link to the bound book
Marking the 4473 complete automatically writes the disposition record in the bound book — no double entry.
5
Export PDF for your records
Print or save a PDF copy of the completed 4473 for your physical files alongside the digital record.
